I bought a $30 coupon book in a weak moment, and you just
can’t let those things go to waste. We picked
a restaurant and headed out to celebrate our anniversary. Don’t you just hate highways that have no
numbers on the street signs OR on any of the buildings? We never did find that restaurant.
My husband said, “Let’s go to Texas Roadhouse.” I said OK because we’ve enjoyed that place
many times. That was across town - which
isn’t far in Wake Forest. We arrived
around 7:30. There was a line, it was
cold inside, and the noise was louder than we could stand on this romantic
evening. It only took us five minutes to
say, “Let’s get out of here.”
We drove back across town to Shuckers, near the restaurant
we couldn’t find a half hour before. The
weather was perfect. They said there
were six waiting ahead of us for the outdoor tables. We said we’d wait, but five minutes later we
said, “Let’s get out of here.”
We had to go back home to go to the bathroom. We thought of all kinds of places to go next
but if one of us liked it the other one didn’t.
By now it was close to 9:00 and my husband was getting weird. I wasn’t getting any more agreeable
myself. We chose the Italian restaurant
near home that we had tried last year and didn’t like.
This time it was marvelous!
Great atmosphere, great spaghetti, great wine… and a perfect anniversary. :)
