WiFi stands for Wireless Fidelity. As Hi-Fi refers to High-Fidelity or quality
of sound, so Wi-Fi must refer to Wacky-Fidelity of the internet.
Here’s the way it works. You get this little black box
called a “modem.” You plug it into the
cable outlet in your wall and that brings the worldwide internet into your
house. Then another little black box
called a “server” conveys the invisible internet waves along, and they creep
out all over the house and neighborhood and form a network amongst any
available irritants such as smart phones and laptops.
