I bought a can of cinnamon buns – the ones
you cook and then ice. My taste buds were beyond ready when I popped them into
the oven. But it was not meant to be. Oh sure, they cooked just fine, but they
didn’t rise and they were pretty hard. I fished the container out of the trash can
and put it, with the receipt, into a plastic bag to go back to the store. The
date on the end of the can was current. I don’t know why they didn’t rise. But
I wanted my money back.
I was at the customer service counter explaining
this to the lady. Out of the bag came the unrolled cardboard container and the
label that had been wrapped around it. I heard the man in line behind me say, “Wow!
Can you really get a refund for an empty muffin carton?” I turned around to
explain it, and then I cracked up when he said, “How about some empty beer
cans?”
