WRITER'S LIFE

I feel like I’ve had a drink out of a fire hose today!  I went to a Born Toastmasters meeting followed by a Wonderland Book Club meeting. Both were my first time. I learned more stuff than I thought I didn’t know. Afterward I went to lunch with two of the busiest people I know of -  AlexSandra Lett (she wrote “The Harvest” and lots of other books and sells them out the wazoo!) and Alice Osborn (she leads the book club, gives writing workshops at Wake County libraries, writes poetry and songs, performs with guitar, and I don’t know what all else). These women spend their vacations working.

Hugh Mouse says:

Do not be overwhelmed. Say “ammmm” very slowly.

Do not put your favorite mouse on the back burner.

You want to get published in magazines and all, you’ll need to spend time finding the publications that are looking for your (our) kind of stories. You need me to help you, but I’m too small and, well, imaginary.

You want to meet people in the writing industry. I understand that. Sure. Go to all those meetings. See if I care. Just don’t expect me to wait up for you.

Now! Let’s go to the beach!
