BIRD SEEDS

When we moved into our apartment, I walked out onto the deck and saw that it was covered with debris.  Upon a closer look, I saw that it was sunflower seed shells.  Our decks are made of wood slats.  There are spaces between those boards.  Our neighbors overhead feed the birds.  I sweep constantly.  I’ve even taken a hair dryer out there and blown them off a couple of times.

But when I go out to the parking lot and see the gardeners pruning bushes, cleaning up the gardens, planting flowers, mowing grass, or blowing leaves off the breezeways, I think of all the spring clean-up that the new owners of our house are doing in the yard this week.  Heck, I’ll take a few bird seeds any day!
